Testing targets

Testing targets let you define testing goals with a specific frequency and scope, then track compliance against those goals over time.

Purpose

Targets help you set quotas for how often specific parts of your workforce should be tested. FairTest tracks progress against each target and can generate selection events automatically to keep you on track.

Creating a target

  1. Go to Selections > Testing Targets
  2. Click New Target
  3. Configure the target settings:

Name

Give the target a descriptive name (e.g. "Monthly site testing — Brisbane").

Scope

Define which employees the target covers. You can choose a single scope type or combine multiple:

Scope TypeExample
LocationA specific site or office
RegionA group of locations
DepartmentA specific department
Job ClassificationA specific role or classification
CombinationsLocation + Department, Region + Job Classification, etc.

Frequency

How often the target should be met:

WeeklyEvery week
FortnightlyEvery 2 weeks
MonthlyEvery 4 weeks
Every 8 weeksEvery 8 weeks
QuarterlyEvery 13 weeks
Half-yearlyEvery 26 weeks
YearlyEvery 52 weeks
CustomSpecify a custom number of weeks (1–52)

Selection method

  • Percentage — the percentage of employees within scope to test each period
  • Count — the number of employees to test each period

Generating a testing plan

The Generate Testing Plan feature creates pending selection events from your active targets.

  1. Go to Selections > Testing Targets
  2. Click Generate Testing Plan
  3. Select a date range for the plan
  4. Choose which targets to include
  5. Click Generate

FairTest creates pending selection events for each target within the date range. Events that have already been created for those dates are automatically skipped to avoid duplicates.

Generated events appear in your Selections list with a Pending status, ready for you to review and run.
