Xero Integration

FairTest integrates with Xero Payroll (AU) to sync employee roster data into your FairTest organisation.

Connecting to Xero​

  1. Go to Setup > Integrations > Xero
  2. Click Connect to Xero
  3. You will be redirected to Xero to log in and grant FairTest access to your Payroll employee data
  4. You will be returned to FairTest automatically once authorised

Once connected, you can use Test Connection at any time to confirm FairTest can still reach your Xero organisation, and Enable/Disable to pause the integration without losing your configuration.

Employee Group Mapping​

If your Xero Payroll uses Employee Groups (tracking categories), choose which FairTest entity they should map to:

FairTest reads the Employee Group options directly from your Xero Payroll Settings and lists them as "Groups found: ..." on the integration page. If no groups are found, set up Payroll Tracking Categories in Xero under Payroll Settings > Organisation > Payroll Tracking Categories first.

Assigning Groups​

After choosing a mapping:

  1. Go to the relevant Setup page (Locations, Departments, or Job Classifications)
  2. Use the Xero Employee Group field on each record to assign the matching Xero group

Next Steps After Connecting​

  1. Map Employment Basis values (Full-time, Part-time, Casual, Labour Hire) to Pay Types in Setup > Pay Types
  2. If applicable, map Employee Groups to Locations, Departments, or Job Classifications (see above)
  3. Go to the Employees page and click Import from Xero to sync your employees

Employee Matching​

Employees are matched by Xero Employee ID. Re-running the import updates existing records rather than duplicating them.

Disconnecting​

Disconnecting revokes FairTest's access to Xero and removes the connection. Employee data already synced into FairTest is not affected or removed.
